The New Freddy Krueger Revealed!

Now anyone that knows me…happens to know, that out of any horror “reinvention” I have been the most upset about the news that Michael Bay was giving a Nightmare On Elm Street the “Halloween” treatment.

Well two pieces of news this morning and now I am thinking it has potential to be awesome.

First off, is that Wes Craven will be writing…which was a huge factor in whether i would even watch the movie. Which hey that was pretty good news.

But what it really came down to was Freddy. It was announced early on that the iconic Robert Englund would be offered the role but that he would most likely refuse (which he did).

So who in the hell could play Freddy Krueger? My favorite horror character of all time.

I just could not imagine anyone else, and was pretty frustrated.

Especially knowing that Michael Bay would probably cast some unknown idiot.

Well this morning via [albotas.com] they have learned that BILLY BOB THORNTON will play Freddy Krueger

And I can totally see it happening. He could easily have the swagger that Freddy has. And I have to say, i actually would be a little curious to see what he would look like in the makeup

So i have to admit…i peed a little bit…just a little

The Softer Side of A Nightmare On Elm Street

I spotted both of these in seperate posts on [albotas.com]

This guy must share my strange fascination with anything dealing with Freddy Krueger regardless of product or usefullness there of..

First up is a papercraft someone made that you can actually download, cut out, and build yourself [RIGHT HERE]

The finished product looks a little something like this

Pretty siiiiick.

Next Up is a pillow case from a line of cases entitled “Bad Nite” that is on sale at [FilthyShank.com]. And are currently on display at Monster Mania Con. Low and behold one of the cases has a Freddy glove on it

There is another case that looks cool with a similar design just a gun on it instead. But everyone knows a glove with knives on it, is a much better way to kill someone in their sleep. DUH.

I gotta say Monster Mania Con looks so sweet that I would actually step foot in New Jersey to witness it. And that is saying alot. A WHOLE LOT.
